Course of the Future - America’s Fascination with Short Golf Courses

Course of the Future -
America’s Fascination with Short Golf Courses

The Moorings golf course was designed by world-renowned designer Pete Dye in 1974, and is often referred to as his, "Little Gem." It was the only short course he ever designed and is one of only a handful in the world having the entire front nine surrounded by water.

What’s driving the interest in short courses? Less time consuming, less difficult, less expensive, less use of water and pesticides, and more family-friendly for golfers of all skill levels, short courses check all the boxes for what is required for golf to grow in this day and age.

Millennials and working executives have limited time and aren’t able to devote an entire Saturday to playing golf any longer. Our members can come to The Moorings and play 9 holes in 1.5 hours, and be home in time for soccer games and dinner! The course of the future is here - at The Moorings!
