The Moorings development is the transformation of 535 acres of mangrove lowlands turned into a thriving waterfront community with over 1,200 residences.  The hallmark and integral part of this beautiful community is the well-established Moorings Club founded in 1974.  It became a private membership owned- Club in 1993, established for the pleasure and recreation of its members.

The devastating effects of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in the fall of 2004 resulted in the loss of the original Moorings Clubhouse.  The Board of Governors and a team of professionals have designed our new Clubhouse which captures the essence of our Club, capitalizing on the uniqueness of our site.  The interior captures the casual elegance of the West Indies, focusing on beauty and comfort in a warm and inviting atmosphere. 

Although Moorings Club Memberships are not restricted to Moorings Property Owners, all applicants must complete the required application form, must have member sponsorships and complete the application and approval process.

The Moorings Club is the center of the community’s activities weather is be golf, tennis, social or boating and include:

An 18 hole, par 64 golf course designed by Pete Dye, with spectacular water views and many challenging holes.

A tennis complex featuring nine Fast Dry courts, with six lighted for night play.

A state of the art Fitness Center overlooking the scenic Indian River.

A 60 x 30 heated swimming pool

The family friendly casual setting of the Dockside Grille with expanded seating area for poolside dining and bar service.

Three combined dining rooms can accommodate  more than 300 people or serve as individual rooms for smaller groups.

Ten boat docks and dredged channels, plus a very active Yacht Club offering many nautical adventures and social activities.

A member-supported and staffed Lending Library offering a wide selection of books and videos.

An active bridge program through the season.

A varied and enjoyable social calendar including many dinner dances and special occasion parties.
